Akassia Swiss Resort is home to a truly unique house reef, located directly at the foot of the resort and featuring a dramatic drop reaching depths of more than 50 meters — a rare natural formation in the Marsa Alam area. This exceptional underwater landscape makes the resort a prime destination for both recreational and professional divers.

The reef is richly covered with hard and soft corals, and features a small cave at around 30 meters depth. Divers can explore vibrant marine life while enjoying encounters with a wide variety of species. Looking into the blue often reveals eagle rays, turtles, Napoleon fish, trevally, barracudas, and on special occasions, even whale sharks.

Thanks to the resort’s expansive beachfront, diving access is made easy through two pontoons, one located to the north of the beach and the other to the south. This allows divers to explore different sections of the reef or enjoy exciting drift dives between the two pontoons, which are approximately 400 meters apart.

Diving is available all year round. When weather conditions do not allow diving along the reef wall, divers are offered a complimentary transfer to Maheleg Bay, the resort’s alternative house reef located just one kilometer to the south. Maheleg Bay features its own jetty, allowing dives both to the north and south. During the return from northern dives, divers are encouraged to explore the beautiful sandy plateau at a depth of 12 meters, where octopus, stonefish, and ancient pottery fragments can often be found.

All diving equipment is regularly inspected and maintained using only original spare parts, ensuring the highest standards of safety and performance.
